Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American actor, performer and songwriter for a number of years. Her family was home-schooled by her mother within the USA. Raised with racial remarks and being made to feel unwelcome. She began to gain confidence during the 9th grade, when she appeared in an audition. She was praised by the judges for her vocal ability. Not only did it boost her confidence, but also her goals were changed. At 22, she graduated from New York's Julliard School. In 1993 she made her Broadway debut in Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was called You've Got Mail. In the Broadway first production of Spamalot She played The Lady of The Lake and was awarded the Tony Award as well as the praise of critics. The recognition grew even more for her appearance on Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. A well-known performer, she has also recorded an album and a musical. In addition, she is a LGBT activist.
